Mind, Breath and Meditation – A Free Introduction

Tuesday 1st May, 6pm

Experience the benefits of meditation and breathing techniques in this free workshop taking place at Edinburgh’s Central Library on George IV bridge. Attendees will be given an insightful introduction into the connection between the mind and breath, taught useful breathing techniques and led through a guided meditation.

Choose from a 5 or 10k course within the beautiful estate of Scotland’s finest stately homes on the outskirts of Edinburgh, near South Queensferry and help to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

Commonwealth Pool Free Fitness Event

Saturday 12th May, 5-7pm

Head along to the Royal Commonwealth Pool for a free Open Evening Event that will showcase a range of over 10 taster classes including Power Yoga, Grit Cardio and Pound.

Dalkeith Country Park Bluebell 5k and 10k Trail Run

Saturday 13th May, 10am

Explore the splendor of Dalkeith Country Park as they host a trail race within its grounds in support of Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service (MYPAS). Choose from a mostly flat 5k or a more challenging 10k route, with trails taking in the beautiful forest tracks, green meadows, river walks, long estate avenues and of course the bluebells!

Edinburgh Marathon Festival

26th-27th May – entries close 2nd May at 5pm!

Join in Edinburgh’s largest running festival with a whole host of events taking place over the weekend, culminating with the marathon on Sunday 27th May! There are Junior 5k, 5k and 10k races taking place in Holyrood Park on the Saturday and the half, full and relay marathons to run, or cheer at, on the Sunday. Voted the fastest marathon by Runner’s World in 2008 it’s not one to miss!
