Next Sunday is the inaugural Ultra Tour of Edinburgh and I’m excited!
Stephanie and I will be running side by side and hoping to enjoy a lovely 55km of sightseeing in my home city! Let me know if you’re running in the comments below or follow along on my Instagram stories for updates!
Yesterday, Steph and I met up for a catch up in our favourite way – running followed by brunch! Nige joined us too and we ran from home along the river to Hammersmith and then through Richmond Park to Kingston. We timed it perfectly to catch the Cabbage Patch 10 runners and cheer on our fellow Fulham Running Club bandits, before heading to Local Hero cafe for a full vegan brunch. The lovely Rhianon joined us too after also running from home in Ealing and we re-fueled with porridge, topped toasts and coffees.
After brunch we picked up a few kit essentials for Sunday’s race – bivvy bags – and spent the afternoon planning next weekend, from the train journey picnic, pre-race parkrun (we’re heading to Vogrie Country Park on Saturday morning), and yoga (thanks to Sweaty Betty) to our snack choices on race day.
We’re both raring to go!
The race starts at 7.30am on Sunday morning and we run down the iconic Royal Mile from St Giles cathedral towards the Scottish Parliament and Arthur’s Seat to begin our journey – check out the full route here – so if you’re in town come out and cheer us on! Of course I’ll be sharing a full race report here next week so stay tuned for that!
